Are you using Word 2002? This feature was new in Word 2002. In earlier
versions you have to create the watermark manually as described in the Help
under "Create a watermark."

I am using Word 2002 and am having the same problem. The
Print Watermarks option is grayed out. I've tried
reinstalling, updated service packs etc but no luck so
far. Appreciate any help.

Hi Mike,
What view are you in? The printed watermark
choice will be greyed out if you have a document
that is locked for forms or if you're in
Web Layout view.
