Watermark Transparency/Opacity

Greg Lovern

I want to use a graphic as a watermark (header, and sheet background).
It works fine except that it needs to be semi-transparent.

I've read the posts here about using Wordart, but since I'm using a
graphic, not text, Wordart isn't an option if I understand correctly.

How can I make the graphic semi-transparent?

Thanks,

Greg

Well, There is a way....
add a sheet to your workbook.
Insert the graphic there.
Go back to your "data-sheet"
Scroll over your "data" (sheet to be printed OVER "watermark")
go to graphic-sheet
While holding down the Shift-key, select the "Edit" and then the "Paste
Picture Link"
Now you can move the "data" OVER your graphic.
Depending on how you want to pretty things up,
you may want to edit the contrast & brightness of the graphic first - to
your likeing, and probably ensure that you turned off the GRIDLINES in your
data-sheet first
