Watermark

I am trying to add a watermark in excel. I have the picture and have put it
in the footer so it covers the middle of the page, however when i print I
lose the table as the picture is on top. Is there a way so it is in the
background and prints like it would in word

If you use Excel2003 then try Format>Sheet>Background

If you want the watermark to be text,

In Excel, use Word Art to create the watermark. Set the transparency high.
Copy the WordArt to Paint program and save the file. The file can then be
inserted in your footer and it will be transparent. Some experimentation
will be necessary to get just what you want.

I have not figured out how to create a transparent picture.
