watermarks

I have word 2003. I wanted to make a draft for 1 paper. I did but for the
life of me can not remove the draft watermark from any document at all. Any
suggestions?

A watermark is just a graphic that is anchored in a header
(http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/AnchorToHeader.htm). To delete it,
first open the header area. Then you can click on the watermark to
select it, and click the Delete button.

I followed your suggestions and it is still there.

I have deleted the software and reinstalled. The watermark it is still there.

I have checked no fills and it still prints.

I changed the fill to white like the paper and it is still there.

Even blank documents have the watermark.

What avenue now?

Either you are not looking at all the headers in the document or the printer
is adding the header (a feature of many printers).

It sounds to me like the watermark has been inserted in the Normal.dot
template. See

I now see the line 'Even blank documents have the watermark,' about the
only relevant clue. Sherlock would be ashamed!
