Way to identify picture names or sizes in Word 2007

Alan

I have a very large Word 2007 file, created by merging many
documents together, with about 130 pictures in it. A handful of the
pictures were pasted into the original documents in poorly selected
formats, resulting in very large sizes. I know the image names by
viewing the /word/media directory using an unzipping program.
However, I do not know how these correspond to the images in the Word
file.

Is there any easy way to do one of the following:

(a) Convert all the graphics in the Word file to a reasonably-sized
format?

(b) Identify which graphics in the Word documents are the large
ones?

Thanks, Alan

See http://www.gmayor.com/extract_images_from_word.htm Extract the offending
images, edit them as required and put them back. You may even be able to
adjust the size to your satisfaction using the format picture tools within
Word.

Thanks. I`ll give that a try.

For some reason, the offendingly-large pictures are EMF format,
which was surprising.
