Mr. Low
Dear friends in the community,
I faced the problem of not able to open the Excel file after updating the
first version of MS Office 2007 Beta with the technical refresh.
What I think the most likely reason is that the technical refresh that I
downloaded was for MS Vista RC1 OS computers. There is another version of the
technical refresh just below the first download specially design for XP and
earlier computers. As I have already updated my Beta with the wrong refresh,
I do not have any choice but to remove the program from the disk C. I
downloaded again the full Beta 2 software by paying USD1.50 online. I have
done it successfully and now it can open all Excel files.
Regarding the frequent program crash that I previously encountered, I also
manage to overcome it by running check hard disk (C drive) under the
Properties / Tool of "My Computer" . I defragmented the files using system
tool under accessories , run Norton Disk Optimizer and Norton one button
check up using Norton System Works. I also run a full System Scan using
Norton Antivirus. I believe you can acheive the same or even better effect
using tools at MS One Care.
I hope my sharing is helpful for fixing your problems related to this Beta 2
Technical Refresh
Have a nice day and enjoy your test drive with Microsoft's Office 2007 (Beta
2)
Remember as we share our experience together and provide the necessary
feedback to MS, we can help to develop even better products in the future
for Microsoft which will in turn benefit all of users around the world.
Kind Regards
