WBS information on Timesheet

I'm trying to extract timesheet information from Project Server by project,
task, person and week. I'd like the WBS identifier to be one of the reported
fields. Although I put this field in my "view", it isn't visible in the
downloaded EXCEL spreadsheet. Any thoughts what I'm doing wrong?

Tom,

The issue is that the WBS is not published by default.

In project pro, for each project, you will need to do the following. If you
are using templates, you want to change the templates to do the same.

First, make sure that any task change will result in a publish.
-Tools, Options, Collaborate Tab
-Check the Any task information changes radio button.
-Click OK.

Now, add WBS (and anything else you want) to the published fields.
-Tools, Customize, Published fields
-Find WBS on the left and add it to the right using the > button.
-Click OK.
-Then Collaborate, Publish, Republish Assignments.

Go to PWA and you should now see the WBS values.

Thanks. Your suggestion worked. However, I noticed that publishing the
fields didn't update the PWA view immediately. It actually took several
minutes before the update occurred. I wonder if that is a function of how
busy our server is... Or, was it that I originally thought that publishing
"all" information included re-publishing assignment info and it wasn't until
I tried to "re-publish" assignments that the change actually took.

Either way, it's done. Now on to an automated way to extract all weekly
timesheet information into an external file for processing through a costing
system.

Tom:

I've seen systems that are so active that publishing queue can run up to 3
hours. By default, when publishing new and changed assignments, Project sees
changes to start, finish, outline level or percent complete as "changes to
tasks." If you're using 2003, you can change this behavior in Project from
Tools > Options > Collaborate tab. The selections there are fairly obvious.
Note that this change must be made at the user level and can't be changed
globally.
