WD XP Drawing Canvas

Is there any way to disable the drawing canvas feature
from appearing when inserting new text boxes in Word XP? I
have customers who find it very annoying and would like to
have it disabled.

Yes in Tools, Options. On the General tab disable the
option "Automatically create drawing canvas when inserting
autoshape".
