Web 3D Virtual Tour with embeded Visio objects

Hi All,

I want to create a 3D virtual walk through of our college. I want to have
visio objects of (pc's printers network devices etc) & their details (make,
model, IP, mac address etc) viewable whilst browsing the virtual tour from a
web browser.

Has anyone done anything like this?
I assume that the 3D virtual tour may need to be constructed using a program
other than visio, if so any ideas which to use?
Is it even possible? All help/advice on the process/programs used is
gratefully received.

TIA
Danny

Hi Al,

Looks cool, but appears to need the client (viewer) software installed,
rather than just being able to use a web browser!
Any other cool tools?

Cheers

I use several 3D apps and a couple CAD apps; what other apps can use Visio?

I know I can output Visio as .dxf and import to FloorPlan 3D as a tracing
layer.
I can also extrude .ai format in several 3D apps.
Any leads to use Visio output to 3D would be appreciated.
Thanks
Doug

I have a visio solution that that will render a 3D "flyover" from database
infomation. However a virtual "flythrough" image in Visio I have yet to see.
Is it the case you require the mathematical formulas to create the 3D effect
in Visio? I use a profile cam and Plan cam on an adjacent page. I use control
buttons to rotate both these cams. The angular output of the cams are used as
references to another Visio drawing page in the same document. 3D shapes on
the drawing page accomodate cos & sin functions within their shapesheet
cells, that are in turn referenced to the cam angle information. a rudimentry
Visio 3D flyover is the end result
