Web Access and Project Server

Josephine

Hi,
I just started configuring project server and web access.
I am encountering a few hurtles that I am sure will seem trivial to you...
but for now I am pretty stuck, even though I have been reading all the online
info/guides I could find, and used the help from PWA and Project
extensively...

Here's what I'd like to achieve:
I want to make sure that all team members can access their tasks and
assignments on PWA. So far, I published the updated project plan and it seems
that users have access to their tasks on the "Tasks" page.

However, here are the few issues I am facing:

1) **PWA Home page**: Even though the project plan on the server has been
widely updated, it still says: "You have no new tasks assigned to you" on the
PWA Home page. Maybe I am being too optimistic with regards to the Home page
functionalities, but it seems that it should be displaying newly assigned
tasks/new tasks right there, shouldn't it?

2) On the **Project Center**, if I click my current project's name file, I
get the error message: "Either the project manager has not published the
project plan or there is no information in the project plan to display." I am
not sure why it returns that error, since I am pretty confident to have
published the project plan... how would the tasks show up otherwise?

3) In **Project** itself, I was able to publish the project earlier today,
but now the "Enterprise Options>Import Project to Enterprise" function is
inactive/inaccessible. Why? Could it be because I haven't made a change to
the project since I last published it?

Thank you so much for your kind assistance, it has been a tough week and any
help would be greatly appreciated!

Josephine:

Your third question may reveal the nature of all your problems. Are you
connected to Project Server when you take the publish action? When you're
not connected to Project Server, the Enterprise Options on the Tools menu
are grayed out with one single exception. Project Server Accounts should be
the only active selection on that menu, until you select that option to
create an enterprise account for Project Pro. Have you done this? If not, do
it now. Afterwards, all of the problems will go away and you'll want to
delete the non-enterprise projects that you inadvertently published to
Project Server.

Gary,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
I do have an account on Project Pro, and just tested the connection again:
it confirmed that I am connected... However, the only option available is the
"Project Server Account" and I can't publish or make any modifications to my
published project.
Please advise.
Thanks a lot
