I have created a Form for a web survey that asks for your favorite color. In
a drop box I can select one of six choices (red, green, blue etc.). The
results of this survey gets saved to an Access database in the FPDB directory
of my website. So far, so good.
On a separate "Results" webpage I am ultimately trying to display a pie
chart of how many people (or a percentage) picked each color. While I can
easily display a table of the database results [Insert > Database > Results],
that does not display a count of each color. I believe this could be tackled
by creating a Web Component "Pivot Table" using FP Web Components >
Spreadsheet & Chart.
But I am having difficulty with the Pivot Table not allowing me to reference
the Access database on my web server. How do I attach to the database on my
web? It seems like it will only allow me to attach to a database on my local
disk (pre-publish location).
My hope is to be able to somehow reference this pivot table so that I can
display a Pie Chart [Insert > Web Component > Spreadsheet & Chart > Office
Chart]. Is this possible?
I am running FP 2002 on a server with FP web extensions (all other features
work fine, including hit counters)
