Hello,
Hope you all have a very happy new year. On to my question. I have created
a web component "interactive" office spreadsheet. Everything worked great,
and I was able to publish it and access it via I.E. browser, using the PC I
created it on. I then tried accessing it on another PC and I got a screen
that said Missing: Microsoft Office Web Components. What does this mean?
Do all people accessing it need to have web components, and if so where do
they get them from or is it something that my web host company needs to have
on their server? I am brand new to this stuff, so not exactly sure what
this all means. Appreciate any help you can give me. I am using
FrontPage2003 and my web host does support MS FrontPage 2002 extensions.

Where do they get Web Components from or does this mean that they all need
FrontPage installed? Does it matter which version of Microsoft Office (MSO)
that they have?

The OWC come on the Office CDs or you can download them. They need to have
the same version of Office that you're using on the web site. For example,
if you're using the Office XP Web Components then they need Office XP.

NOTE: Each user must have a licensed copy of Office to use these.

There's also another way you can do this. You can install the OWC on the
web server directly and then use ASP code to create your spreadsheet. Each
user still needs to have a licensed copy of Office but this way they don't
need to have them installed on their PC and you have more control.
