Web link issue

For some reason I get the following error message when I click on a URL in
OneNote. "Unable to open http://www.support.toshiba.com. Cannot locate the
Internet server or proxy server." The URL in the message always matches the
one I clicked on. I use OneNote both at work and at home. This is
happening on my home machine, but not my work machine. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Gordon Staley

I assume your web browser works normally? Are you using IE or another
browser?

Oops, should have provided that info. Yes I am using IE
6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519. It appears to be working fine in
all other respects. I can copy the URL from ON into IE and it behaves
properly. It appears to happen on all URLs.

Thanks,
Gordon Staley

Hmmm...do URLs work if you click them in other applications? Like Outlook
or Outlook Express?

I guess the blame is on the firewall other than XP that is not configured to
allow OneNote to connect to Internet.

BINGO, you gave me a clue as to where to look. I have Norton Internet
Security installed and enabled. I went in, reconfigured the Personal
Firewall to allow OneNote to access the Internet and it started working.

Thanks!!
Gordon
