web link to Bookmarks in word 2007

With word 2003 we have web pages linking to bookmarks within the word
document using html ie. <a href=â€document.doc#bookmarkâ€> where the text after
the hash is the bookmark.

This refuses to work with word 2007 when opening either 2003 or 2007
documents.
Does anyone know if this feature has changed in word 2007 or is there a new
syntax?

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Stephen,

What app are you using to create the HTML documents and are the bookmarks fully qualified, or just as you've shown in the sample?

Do you have an URL for an example of a web page giving you problems?

Are the Word documents .doc or .docx? .docx plus a bookmark may not automatically open in a browser with default settings in
Internet Explorer.

Is Word already running when you try to open a document from the web page?

Hi Bob

We have tried creating the HTML in Dreamweaver, Frontpage and in a text
editor. The links are relative but I have tried a fully quallified URL.

Unfortunately the documents are on our intranet and I can't provide a link.

Our current documents are saved in word 2003 format but we have also tried
word 2007 docx. We have also tried linking with word already open and closed.

To clarify, with word 2003 the link takes you to the actual bookmarked page
with word 2007 the same link opens the document in word but only takes you to
the first page.
