All links to web sites in Emails received, Notes, Appointments and probably
all Outlook components have just started to show the message:
"General failure. The url was: ... The system cannot find the file
specified."
The PC has no history of viruses. I recently installed IE7 SP2 (again!).
Links in Word work normally with Ctrl + Click.
System: XP Pro SP2 Outlook 2007 SP1 IE 7 SP2.
In reply to similar queries some while back MVPs have replied saying change
IE settings: > Control Panel->Internet Options->Programs Tab->Reset Web
Settings. But IE7 does not have a button with this name; just one on the
Advanced tab called Reset that has the warning to only use if the browser is
unusable. IE 7 works fine so I'm reluctant to try it.
Has anyone any ideas please?
