I 'am unable to open web links sent to my Outlook email account. I receive an
error message "invalid path or directory does not exist".

Have you actually tried searching this group on "links"? You'll find MASSES
and MASSES of posts about this.
It would be easier of course if you used a newsreader instead of the
horrible web access......
