Web Page Generation after upgrade to MSP07

Hello, I have just upgrade from MSP03 (Standard) to MSP07 (Professional) and
am trying to re-use some existing export maps I had set up previously to
generate web pages.

However I understand that with 07 you can no longer generate a web page but
only an .xml file. If I select .xml as an option, the export wizard does not
appear and the entire file is saved rather than the specific report I want to
save (based on the export maps)

Is there any way around this? Can I re-use the existing export maps I
have created in 03 in the latest version to generate an .html page?

I can see the export maps have been copied across correctly as they are in
the global.mpt file.

Thanks,
John.

Unfortunately, there is no way to use the export Maps to save a project as
an HTML file in Microsoft Project 2007. And saving to XML works exactly as
you described it, which is no solution to your problem, unfortunately. I
know of no way around this limitation. Hope this helps.

Dale, thanks for your advice - yes there doesn't seem to be an obvious
workaround to this problem.

After looking into this a bit more, the best solution I came up with is to
generate as a pdf file (as long as users have pdf readers the end result is
fairly similar)

I did look at generating the table as a text file and then merging the
result into an html page using Front Page, but this got too messy.

On a previous post there was mention of a workaround, but this link doesn't
seem to work anymore unfortunately, so for the moment I'll have to stick with
the pdf solution.

Thanks,
John.

Hi John,

There are a number of viewers available, like Housatonic's, that are listed
in FAQ Item: 16. Project Viewer. FAQs, companion products and other useful

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the links - I'll have a look.

In the short term the pdf solution does seem to be working (surprisingly)
well and the quality is actually better than you get from sending the output
to a web page - plus it is easier (hit the "print" button only rather than go
through the export map wizard).

Thanks,
John.
