web page management database

Hello;
I hope someone can possibly point me in the right direction. I thought this
forum might have a member that can point me to a pre-made Access database or
have knowledge of another software package.

Does anyone know of a pre-made database or software package for keepimg track
of website webpage revisions? We are using Dreamweaver 2004 MX and find it
challenging to keep track of which of our several hundred page site has been
worked on/last modified...

This is a template for an Issues Database. If you consider any change to a
web page as an individual issue, this could be a way of tracking changes, and
keeping up with what should be changed. It also allows you to assign people
to the issue, set priorities, and do some reports and charts.

Something else I ran across was this: Microsoft Content Management Server
2001 Site Administrator's Guide. Evidently this will track all content
changes to a web site, and keep a running tab on what has changed. You are
probably already tied to some other software, but I thought I would mention
this. The following URL has a full description of what this can do.

Thank you for your response. I looked at the Access DB and that might suit
our needs with a bit of manipulation. We are using
all Windows servers, Dreamweaver 2004 MX. Would the Microsoft Content
Management work with our set up?

I don't know if it would work with your setup. I believe you need Microsoft
Server 2003 to run it.

hi,

Try using MS Visual Source Safe. It will automate tracking the revisions and
will automatically FTP web pages to the web site once they are updated.

Regards,
