I created a site using shared borders. I read that shouldn't be done but I
had problems with the frames page setup. When I opened the site, all my sub
pages had two copies of the frames next to each other on the same side so I
tried shared borders. I also have problems with the web page tabs not
displaying the proper names.
So 2 problems:
1. When I used frames, what did I screw up that caused the frame
(navigation)page to display twice on my sub pages. I setup index.html -->
frames.html --> myhomepage.html ---> subpages all on same level.
I never got that double display to clear up so I went to shared borders.
I also remember, every time I went to save the page after the frames were
applied, it would give me two save dialogues. One for the page (I had a
photo gallery on it), then another save right after that one for the entire
page with the frame. It was very confusing to keep track of all the pages it
created. I had a frames.htm pictures.htm totalpage.htm for every single page
I tried to create. Did I totally do that wrong?
2. Now using shared borders, the web page tabs (IE 7) will show the correct
name for index.html (configured on page properties to show "mynameweb"), no
shared border. It will also show the correct names for my home page (also no
shared border). But when I click on my first subpage the browser tab (now
looking at the finished site) it retains that page's name no matter what
other page I click on. Even if I go back up to the index page. The tab name
stays the same after that one subpage. I've updated all the page names in
the page properties boxes and still the same behavior.
That one page's name gets stuck on the browsers tab and will not update at
all.
