Web pages (28) only loads first 12 pages-worked two months ago fin

I have a web page designed and we update it periodically. This month when I
uploaded it only the first 12 pages loaded (out of 28 pages). Because
Publisher 2003 doesn't produce pages that I can copy via FTP without the
program I can not tell what the problem is. I didn't edit anything but text
on page 12 so I can not imagine why it is stalling there. The first 12 pages
load fine and then it says
(Publisher could not save the file - check URL or network connection and try
again) I've tried numerous times, downloaded SP2, restarted the computer and
tried again. Nothing seems to work.

Denise,

Perhaps it is because you have the 'enable incremental publish to the web'
option selected under Website Options. If you only made a change on the 12
th page, then perhaps it is trying to load only the first 12 pages because
of this. When you view your site, is the change on page 12 reflected? The
perhaps it actually worked as intended. If it isn't then perhaps untick the
incremental publish option and try again.

First - the web page preview shows all 28 pages.
Second - this was a "new" to a new ISP load
Third - I made changes on page 1 and several other places but no major
changes to page 12 (which is where it stalls)
Lastly - I took off the incremental option and it still doesn't load.

Any other ideas? Thanks for the suggestions.

Strike three, I'm out! ;-)

Check pages 11 - 13 for elements that might be overlapping into the scratch
area. Sometimes this will make the publishing process choke. If you don't
see anything obvious try running the design checker.

FWIW you can publish to a folder on your hard drive and then FTP. After you
click Publish to the Web, choose a folder on your hard drive. However if you
are using a form on your site, FTP publishing can/will corrupt the front
page extensions. So, perhaps only publish to your hard drive to test?

Thanks for the comments/suggestions. There are no overlapping elements and
design checker seems to find no problems.

HOWEVER, I published to a folder and used FTP to load the pages just fine.
Now I must figure out the number of picture/gif files to know where I need to
reload them. I just tried loading the htm files via FTP. I guess I could
erase the whole site online and reload the whole thing from the folder and
then I wouldn't have to figure out which picture files are numbered as what.

It still perplexes me that this problem exists but you have provided a work
around that appears to function. Thankfully I have no forms on my site!

Thanks, Denise

You may want to delete all of the image files and html files on your
computer first, then resave the pub file. Nest, delete all the image and
html files on the server. Then upload all the new website files to the
servers. This way it gets rid of any multiple or extra image files.

Good catch Don. I always do this whenever I update my site as standard
practice, and it should have been part of my original answer. I bet it will
solve her problem. Thanks.

Most of the time when I update my site I'll delete all the files on the
server and then upload the new files. Seems it goes quicker.
