Web pages address in emails won't open when I click on them

When there is a web address (i.e., hyperlink) in the body of an email,
and I click on it, the webpage does not open. Instead, my homepage
opens (or my documents open).

Is there a setting I need to change in IE or in Outlook?

Thanks.

In IE, go to tools, internet options and on the last tab reset the web
settings.
