WEB Query in Office For Mac 2004

Does the WEB QUERY exist in excel of OFFICE 2004 for MAC. I have a
trail version and can not find this option. I use WEB QUERY alot at
work which we only have windows versions sadly. Having this option
would sway me to buying OFFICE FOR MAC

THANKS

According to this URL, yes. Apparently, it has been a feature since Excel 98
for Mac. I haven't tried it myself but I'm sure it's there on the 2004
version

Excel in the MAC does have a web query but it is harder to use than in the
windows versions. To run a new web query open one of the saved queries in a
text editor and make a copy of it. You will find these files stored in
Microsoft Office 2004 > Office > Queries folder. Modify the URL in your copy
of the MS query and save it in the queries folder using a different name. A
plain text file should work. Then go to external data and run the query.

Once you get the hang of this you can use VBA to give you control over other
aspects of the download. The quickest way of finding out how to do this is
to record a macro of your saved external data query. Then use the VBA editor
to open it and modify it to suit your needs.
Hope this helps to get you started
