Try opening the site in FrontPage and do a Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks.

I just tried that, as well as removing the search publish add the search,
recalculate and publish it still doesn't work. Thanks though for the
thought. It seems it's looking for the hash file on my D: drive for some
reason, but there is nothing in the html code referencing the D: drive which
is a CD ROM drive anyway

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q170975/
But open your online site on your hosted server in a FTP program (not FP) to find/delete the files
The open your site in FP and run Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

Find which file? I looked at this article, but it refers to files that have
been deleted. I don't think that is whats causing the problem. It's the
search component that is failing. Also when I tried to load the site using
ftp it doesn't recognize my log in

The files in Method 2

the file all.dct that shows up in the error message is a quarkexpress
dictionary file. I resently installed quark 6 on my PC, how would these 2 be
related?

Try opening your live site in FrontPage and do a Tools | Recalculate
Hyperlinks. Doing this locally and then publishing probably won't fix the
problem.
