Web Site and Fire Fox

I just published my web site Saturday night and thought I would try my
FireFox browser to see what happened. On the old test site at Netfirms,
FireFox would load the opening screen and that's all. This time I pasted in
the URL for the Home Page, and FireFox worked almost perfectly. Hyperlinks
on nav bar didn't work on a couple of pages, and there was a text overflow on
one, but nothing that stalled navigation. Is the cross browser problem
overstated? the URL for the Home Page is:
http://www.burdin-adr.com/index_files/Page2168.htm. Has anyone had a similar
experience?

I guess you are just special CWhit ;-). In some respects your site loads
better in FireFox. Some people have more problems with their Publisher 2003
websites in Firefox than others <shrug>.

I had actually looked at your site when you first posted it on the Earthlink
host with Firefox and had noticed the navbar problem. How did you fix the
broken hyperlinks on the navbar?

I found the navbar problem on only two pages, Book a Mediation and Business
Mediation. I have no idea how to fix that problem, other than just
reinstalling them in Pub. and see what happens. But the funny problem I have
is that when I go to the index page (Welcome Screen) in FireFox I get the old
welcome screen from the old site! And I can't go any further. However, when
I go to the URL for the home page, I go there and can navigate back to the
new welcome screen and forward. That is weird. I agree, FireFox loads
faster and smoother on the graphics heavy pages, and with the exception of
this index page mystery, the two disabled navbars, one or two missing links
that are no big deal, and one of the mediator bios that has a big blob of
blue on it, FireFox works great. Best of all, the forms work, and that's
what the site is really for: choosing a mediator, booking the mediation,
evaluating the mediation and making suggestions. I really was unaware that
FireFox made a genuine effort to get compatible with IE, while IE couldn't
care less what other people do.

While loading your two problem pages, it appears that in both cases your
navbar is overlapping the banner, and/or something else. If you overlap
these, it converts it into an image and destroys the links. Generally make
sure you are using the 'snap to' function to avoid overlapping. In this
particular case, perhaps use the nudge tool to move things apart slightly,
and see what happens. Then perhaps let the two elements 'snap' back
together.

I am curious. Under web options, what encoding are you using?

You have the correct welcome screen...no marquee. I think you are having the
same problem you did with IE...you need to empty your cache. In Firefox, go
to Tools > Options > Privacy > Cache and clear. Close Firefox, and try your
welcome screen again.

Thanks again for the helpful tips. How can I continually forget to clear the
history and empty the cache? I just click reload and think that does it. Of
course your suggestion worked. As to your earlier question about encoding,
the answer is Western European (Windows) and the other two options, saving
web pages and email are unchecked. I would bet dollars to donuts the nav
bars overlap the banner -- it causes no problem in IE, but I'll bet that's
the hangup in FireFox. I'll say again, I'm amazed at how well FireFox works.

I got lost reading your emails back and forth.

I am having a problem using firefox. All links works for the first page of
the site. When you get to the linked page, nothing works.

Do you know of a solution for this. It works fine in IE.

Here is the site www.intentionbeadz.com

Thanks for your help.
