Web Site removal of extensions ?

I made a site and used shared boarders and link bars, tried to publish
to roots web and FP2003 states the server does not have extension to
process these componants.

Book states that link bars do not need extensions, MS web site states
that some fancy link bars do?

Any way, turned off browser settings, so I don't use properties that
need extensions but my site is still built with them. Can I clean it
somehow? Or do I have to go page by page?
