This is a summary of the two previous messages I pposted.
Sorry. One has my name (John S) but one say anonymous.
So let me sum it up here.
I was running word and office 2002, when I had to (or was
offerred to) do a web update to Word SP3. I THOUGHT is
was only going to update Word to increase functionality.
Well I do have more functionality in word now after having
updated to SP3. But some very major problems arose:
1. Word 2002 SP3 cannot open existing documents ("File
<filename" is not avaiable." And Outlook doesn't have any
of my addresses or folders anymore. I have hundreds of e-
mails and addresses in there (or I did, anyway). Why did
it update Office nstead of just Word, and
2. how can I recover (or convert) my addrssbook and
folders with all those messages? I can't believe that an
update would install on top of itself and destroy data?
Thanks MUCH!
