webmail vs. outlook problem

EMERGENCY - i am desperate here - i have recently set up several websites on
a new server. i set up accounts in outlook for the associated emails but the
mail is still going to the webmail software on the server. it is not going
to outlook. the server tells me i can choose pop3 or imap. please please
help me...is there something other thaan the obvious to set up in outlook?
is there something i need to change on the server??? thanks!

You would have to configure Outlook with a POP3 or IMAP4 account to download the mail from the mail server. The details depend on the Outlook version and, of course, the settings required by your particular mail server.
