Hi
I'm building a company Website using Frontpage 2003 but no very little about
web development. The site will be hosted by our ISP. At our office we run
Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 Premium which includes SQL Server.
We want the website to have some content which is restricted to registered
users so need a log on procedure and also eventually want to develop on-line
ordering for our customers.
My question is concerning whether the user/password data and the more
extensive customer/item/price data (Excel/Access MDB/SQL Server Database
info or whatever) would normally reside on the ISP's server with the Website
or is it normal to link the website to data stored somewhere else e.g. On
our office SBS Server.
Is there a norm for this ?
If the Data needs to reside with the website, how would it be maintained?
Many thanks
