Website creted in Frontpage 2003, does not display correctly in IE

Enjay

I created a new website using Frontpage 2003, however I could not publish it
using FP as our firewall did not allow me to. When custoemrs connect to the
new site using IE7 everything looks fine and works the way it is supposed to.
however when custoemrs connect ot hte site using IE6 the line spacings are
wrong, the link buttons are out of position, some photos do not display and
even the nav bars are missing, what could the cause be?

So, it appears you used Microsoft Word to create a good portion of the site,
correct? If so, that's your problem. You shouldn't be using a word
processing program to create a web site. That's what FrontPage is for.

I used word to edit the html pages after this started happening, I thought it
might have had something to do with CSS, so I opened the pages in Word and
saved them as HTML to try and test if this was the issue, but to no avail

You have seriously bloated code generated by Word. I repeat, Word is *not*
for designing web sites. You are asking for problems (and you got them).

You need to do it correctly, using FrontPage.

You also need to see what your web site looks like in other browser, chiefly
Firefox.

In addition to Tom's advice let me add this:

1- Page transitions are distracting and only work in IE
2- Remove spaces from file names (they will appear as %20)
3- Some of your images need to be optimized to smaller file size.

Hi Guys

So I went back to the drawing board, I cleaned up all the Word generated
HTML by using the Optimize html function in Expression Web, haven't changed
the spaces between the filenames as yet. and the pictures was compressed by
they displayed pixelated in IE, now after the cleanup, the HTML pages are
still not displaying correctly but the thing is it only happens on IE 6, any
more suggestions

I would recommend starting over and using FP to create your pages, and leave
Word out of the mix. You will have nothing but problems if you continue
using it. It's not meant for web designing.
