Hi there - have designed my website using microsoft publisher. It
works fine in the program but when loaded / published to the website
it loads slowly and bitty and is a bit painful to see especially as on
the program it works so smoothly.

Any helpful ideas about how to make it run more smoothly and load
faster and without the discombobulation would be most appreciated.

the site is:

Your site is very graphic intensive which will slow loading. The more
pictures, the slower it will load.

At the minimum, compress all your graphics before you upload your site. If
you have Pub 2003, reference: Compress graphics file sizes to create smaller
Publisher Web pages:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/HA011266301033.aspx
If you have 2007, the compress button is on the picture toolbar...just click
on an image to have the toolbar appear.

If you are using Pub 2003, be sure to go to tools > options > Web tab and
uncheck "rely on vml..." and "allow png...".

Good catch. Yes, images on a master page will not be visible in FireFox.
russ_jc should move everything off the master page.

Hi there thanks for the tip - I was wondering if there is a better
transfer software for mozilla - I am Using Wise-FTP 5....or am I just
stuck with the master page issue (which i will tackle) and of course
th ecompression of images...?

The problem isn't the way you "transfer" or upload your files. Publisher
effectively writes two sets of html code...one that is optimized for IE, and
one that is "dumbed down" for all other browsers. FireFox is getting the
"dumbed down" code, where anything placed on the master page will not be
visible. It is unfortunate, but you simply should not use the master page in
a Publisher web.
