Website format different is not using IE

I've had several customers mention that my website looks different if they
use a web browser other than IE or if they are using a Mac. I've been told
that images won't load, and the formatting of the page is completely
different. I use Publisher 2007, and Office Live to host my site. Is there
anything I can do?

Yes, but we need to see the site to help. Post a link.

You might also plan on downloading and installing FireFox to test your site.
If your site will work well in FF and IE, it will work in Apace and most
other browsers.

This MIGHT be one of your problems:
From your web site code I see:

font-family:Georgia;
font-size:9.1865pt;

Try using an even integer font size. I.E. displays the closest even font
size in some cases.
One way to see how I.E. adjusts is to use a split screen (shrink the
publisher window to half screen, select preview and shrink the I.E. screen
to half size) side by side and see how close they look for size and spacing.
Also spacing between paragraphs. all of this is adjustable manually.

So I got rid of the Master Page, which helped. My hyperlinks on the nav bar
at the bottom of the page won't work though. Also, the entire site looks
grainy on Fire Fox. Any ideas?

I read in the forum a message from you that you did away with the Master
Page, which was one of the main reasons the images did not show up in FF. I
view them now and all the images are there. I also read in another of your
posts that you noticed that the bottom navbar does not work in FF. This is
because it is linked to the navbar wizrd and synced with the top navbar. You
can fix this, but you might want to wait until you won't be adding any more
pages to the navbar. Just right click the bottom navbar > Arrange > Ungroup.
Now the links will work, but the navbar will not be updated automatically if
you add or remove a page.

As to images being a bit grainy in FF, be sure to always compress your
graphics. Also if you are talking about your heading/banner "St. Louis
Sports and Social Club" the problem has to do with VML coding. In simple
terms Publisher uses VML coding to render that banner correctly in IE, but
VML coding is not supported in any other browser, and so you end up with a
less attractive .gif file instead. You can workaround this, but it is a bit
of a pain. Hold down your shift key and left click to select both the text
box containing "St. Louis Sports and Social Club" and the background
gradient box. A little icon will show up and you can click it to group those
two design elements together. If that grouping icon doesn't show up, then
after selecting both with the shift key down, go to Arrange > Group. Now
with the two elements grouped, right click them > save as a picture. Save as
a GIF and change the resolution to Web (96dpi) and save the image to
somewhere you can find it. Now, delete the original banner text box and
background, and insert the new banner image you just created. This will look
the same in both IE and FF. If the gif doesn't look good, you can try saving
as a PNG and maybe as a JPG to see which gives you the best quality.

If there are other places you have a poor graphic in FF, this could possible
be fixed by compressing and resample the inserted image. Publisher will make
a poor gif copy of an inserted jpg under some circumstances. Just select the
image > Format > and look for the compress button on the picture tab. Be
sure to choose Web for your Target Output and you can do all the images in
your publication at once if you want. If the bad image in FF is word art in
the original publication and not an inserted jpg, then chances are the
problem is the VML coding issue, and you will have to use the workaround I
described for your banner image. Save the word art as a gif and insert it.

If you have other issues post back.
