Website optimization F.P. 2003

Utilizing natural optimization, requiring rich in text content and keyword
density of 5% or less. When viewing page rating with an optimizing program,
header navigation and side navigation text shows first then my page content
increasing total text making it impossible to make the 5%, unless I repeated
my keywords to the point of nonsense. Building the site with borders, is
there anyway to hide the borders from search engines or should I have used
frames or a blank page in the begining. I'm stuck can you help me. Thank you,
oblio

I think this 5% metric is silly. I think using an external program to
"optimize" your site is impossible.

My steps to optimize a page are to imagine what phrases someone would use to
find that page of the site. Make sure that the salient words used in that
phrase (or those phrases) are represented in your <title>, your <h#> tags,
your content, and your filenames.

That's about it....

What is <h#> tags. Is there a setting to hide shared borders from search
engines. Thanks for your help, oblio

h1, h2, h3 etc ... your heading tags.

Shared borders are embedded into the pages when you save the pages - you
cannot hide them from search engines.

How are heading tags applied, sorry for sounding so lame but my knowledge is
limited and centered around natural optimization. Any advise is well
appreciated, Thank you all very much, Billy (oblio)

O

should I have used frames where the navigaton text is to accomplish this. I
have viewed other web sites that doesn't have this issue. Thank you for your
patience, Billy(oblio)

No. Frames will give you and your viewers a lot more problems than they
solve. Simply do not worry about the shared borders - do as Murray
suggested.

Thank you very much

highlight the text you want as a heading, then look up on the top left tool
bar...you'll see drop-down that usually displays Normal, drop it down and
youll see the choices to apply
