Website Registration and Publishing

Would someone be kind enough to advise me about any of these issues re:
FrontPage website registration and publishing?

Questions follow this background information...

What I’m looking for primarily is a web-novice-friendly hosting service
that provides good support for FrontPage webs.

About me and my system: I published one web a few years ago to a local
community intranet… still using Front Page 2002 (SP3)… WinXP SP2…
Microsoft Office 2003 SP2… studied html once but didn’t use it enough
to remember any now.

About the web: A friend of mine has written many interesting original
essays. He has created other "essays" by compiling relatively short
quotations on certain themes and putting them together into one piece.
He has also written hybrid pieces – some original writings, interlaced
with some quotations. He has been distributing these to a small circle
of friends. His work is good enough to be shared more widely, so I
offered to develop a website for him (using Microsoft FrontPage).

Q1: From what I can tell so far, there is no problem with registration
of such a not-for-profit site as a .org, even though it’s not for an
organization – is that a correct interpretation?

Q2A: Should one acquire a .org domain first, for example, through the
Public Interest Registry, then go to a hosting service? Or “hire” the
hosting service first and do whatever registration is necessary through
them?
Q2B: Is there any website or printed source that provides a
step-by-step procedure for starting up a new website?

Q3: Any recommendations about specific hosting services that are good
choices for a FrontPage-developed site, especially services that are
“web-novice-friendly”?

Q4: Any advice about hosting services that are good choices for
private registration of a site?

Q5A: Regarding non-original material in the essays: is there an
authoritative source about copyright and “fair use” on the web?
Q5B: Included in Q 5A would be not only text but also images (my
friend gathered a number of relevant images from some sources that he
can no longer recall, not thinking at the time that knowing the source
would ever be a concern).

Correct, I have one (www.coreybryant.org and I am not an NPO).

I would make sure to get your own domain name in your own name. Some hosting
companies might put their name in the technical contact which is ok, but you
want to make sure you are the owner / administrator of that domain name.

Go to Directi.com, Godaddy.com or register.com to register the domain name

Keep in mind that web hosting companies are in business to host websites. I
actually had one for awhile that helped people / offered people advice from
time to time but of course that got to be way too much. We use
http://www.techevolution.com for hosting and do our own web stuff but also
have www.equentity.com designing a new website.

There are some sites out there the speak of this and
http://www.copyscape.com will help find copies of websites.
http://www.internetlitigators.com/ might be someone to speak to though for
professional, legal advice

can no longer recall, not thinking at the time that knowing the source
would ever be a concern).

http://www.ipwatchdog.com/ might be helpful as well. If you don't want
someone to get your images, don't put them on the web. There are some
watermarkings that you can provide and well as use services like from Red
Apple Media to help protect the images a bit more.


(I think it would have been easier / better to divided these questions with
an appropriate title to help others as well in the future.)

Some people will also recommend keeping your registrar separate from your
hosting company.
like; registrar; GoDaddy and then host with Webs4life.com (or whomever you
choose).
