Website will not publish following Front Page procedures

When trying to publish my site I get the following error message.

Unable to open http:// (web Address), possible causes.
1. The web server may not have front page server extension installed. (I
have verified extensions installed on server).
2. The web server may be temp out of service. (I have verifid server is up
and running).
3. If you are connecting through a proxy server, the proxy settings may be
incorrect. (I don't understand this statement).
4. An error may have occured in the web server.

Any ideas? Thanks

Bob

Have you published your site before w/o problems?

Have you installed or changed anything on your local machine?

Yes, The site was originally published using front page. I have made changes
to each page and trying to update.

See if you can open your online site in FP using File Open Site
(or in IE browse to it and use File Edit w/ FP)
If you can't contact your host to check the site FP SE and permissions
If you can reverse publish (from online to PC)

I did a reverse and downloaded from my website to my computer and it was
sucessfull. But I still cannot publish the revised site from my computer to
my website. When I try to publish it will not accept my username and password
and gives me the error message as stated earlier in this post, but when I
import from my webste everything works fine. Any thoughts?

If using FP 2003 you can publish either way from your online site
- you can also open your PC based site from the Remote web site view
- do not use import
