I wanted to post this message as the only other source of this fix was
recently removed. Google had parts of the solution cached and I have been
able to reconstruct this solution.
If you are using webtrends 7 and receive the following error:
FindMSWordEXEPath: Unable to locate MS-Word via the system registry.
This is caused by having word 2003 installed where webtrends is looking for
2000. The solution is to trick webtrends into loading 2003 in place of 2000.
To do this you need to edit the registry entry for word...in the registry,
under HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Office, there is a key which
defines the version of Office.
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Office/8.0/Word/InstallRoot. I added the following
REG_SZ: Path. Value: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\
Once you do this your problems will be solved.
