Weird anomoly with Word 2007

When printing envelopes, the address appears correct onscreen... however zip
codes in the address are printing normal 5 digits with a LETTER at the end...
i.e. 44444M or 08844B
Sometimes the address will print 4 digits and a LETTER... i.e. 4444M
Any suggestions as to the cause?
Solution welcome, of course.
