weird appointments

I have a laptop with Outlook 2000 and a workstation with
Outlook XP. I synchronize both to an exchange server at
home. When I add or change an appointment (one day or
partial day in length) on one of the machines, the
appointment either shows up as a two day event or at a
different time on the other machine ??? I have been using
these same machines and Outlook versions for almost a year
with no issues until recently... could this be from any
recent updates, patches or fixes>>
