Weird CD key Problem

Hey,

I bought the Microsoft Word 2004 Student and Teachers edition for macs in June of last year, and installed it and it worked fine. However, I am in college now and I had to partition my hard drives, and lost all the data.

Since I don't have the CD's here, I asked one of my friends if he could lend me the CD. He doesn't have the actual CD per se, but he gave me the .dmg file that lets you install it (looks like the same thing).

Anyway, I get to the part where you put the CD key in, and all 3 of them are not working. These are the exact same keys with the exact same version, I'm thinking maybe because it is not the real CD maybe it doesn't work? I don't know

It could be the Standard version and not the S&T.

Well when I opened the .dmg file it said on the first page "Student and Teachers Edition".

Could this be a pirated version? You don't usually see this unless it was
downloaded illegally.

Not 100% sure, but honestly, it could be. I really didn't ask. I will try to get a real version and I will post what happens.
