Weird divide by 100 prob in blank sheets.

Hi all,

Hope someone can help me out here...

When I open Excel and start a new XLS document all goes as expected.

When I type in a number (any number) it gets divided by 100... !!

Eg.. type in 120 press enter... 1.20 is shown.

This is in a blank workbook.

Any ideas what is causing this ??

I've looked at "Style" and number format is set to General.
I've tried other number types in there too.. to no avail,.

Try Tools|Options|Edit Tab
Fix that Fixed Decimal places box.

(it's useful for accounting types who don't want to slow down to enter decimal
points. It's can be irritating to the rest of the humans.)

Look at Tools, Options, Edit tab, and de-select the option "Fixed decimal."
