Weird Office Issue

I work at a K-12 school. We have just begun implementing Office 2007. One
strange issue that three teachers (so far) have been experiencing is that
they cannot save new documents directly to their mapped network folder. It
says that the path cannot be found which is weird because they are trying to
save a document not open it. This only happens to new documents that have
just been created and only when they try to save to their network folder. If
they save that same document to, for example, My Documents it works as it
should. They can then also Copy/Cut and Paste that document into their
network folder. Also if they try open and save a document already saved on
the network folder, it works just fine. I am not sure what to tell these
people since I have never seen this before and everything seems to be
correctly configured.

since no one else is chiming in and the weekend's on us and the kids are
probably coming through the doors any minute now.....
i'd suggest --
check the address (path) of the documents that save OK. then check the path
for those that don't. i'd guess they are not the same, exactly; and you
(they) will need to change the path. i've seen where networked drives have a
folder on the desktop that isn't actually the save to folder, the actual one
being found in the window explorer.
if this doesn't help, perhaps some smarty here will be nudged to reply.
good luck
