weird outlook error

I noticed today that after I close outlook, the icon is
still in the system tray and when i click on it, it
displays an error which reads "Outlook is not responding,
if you are using an exchange server e-mail account, you can
cancel pending server requests by clicking the outlook icon
in the notifications area and clicking cancel server
request on the shortcut menu." So, the problem is "cancel
server request" is not on the shortcut menu. Also, outlook
wont re-open unless i end it first in taskmanager. Ive
tried to reinstal the fix but that hasnt worked, and i
tried to change the network settings, but im starting to
run out of ideas. does anyone know what might be wrong and
how to fix it? Thanks in advance.
