weird printing problem

I have a worksheet that formatted with text in each cell, left aligned
and vertically aligned to the top. It is scaled to 86%. The text is set
to wrap. I also set it to indent 1 space. (But I have tried it without
the indent, and it has the same problem described below.)

On more than one printer, when I print, each line within a cell of
wrapped text moves more to the left until it eventually moves out of
the cell if there are enough lines. Excel's print preview shows it
correctly. But when I print it (or save it as a .pdf), this occurs.

I'm on OS X 10.4.2 and have all updates to Office.

Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

this is a known problem with XL, MacOS, and certain printer drivers
(though I don't know whether the root cause is known).

First, make sure the printer drivers are updated. Next, try changing the
setting in the Print Quality setting in the File/Page Setup/Page tab. I
don't recall at the moment if Normal, High, or a different setting is
the one that solves this.

Thank you very much, JE McGimpsey.

The answer is that the Print Quality has to be set to High. That solved
the problem. Thanks.
