Weird problem in Word.

Hi! I'm new to this forum - and I hope someone can help!

Just today, on every document (on my company's letterhead) that I ope
or created has a 2-inch black rectangle at the bottom of the page. N
matter what I do I cannot delete it, move it, etc. It looks like th
black that highlights text when you go to copy or cut or delete text.

I have tried to find out what this is and I am thinking it ha
something to do with Microsoft Visual Basic or macros o
something...the past few weeks every once in a while I get an erro
message that refers to Visual Basic editor.

Does anyone have any advice? Thank you!!!!

Sounds a bit like a graphics problem. If you check your graphics setting, is
it set to 32-bit colour?

Alternatively, is the black rectangle in the Footer - say a corrupt
graphics?

Graphics setting is set to 32 bit color - The mysterious black box seem
to be in the footer area on the screen...but I do not have a foote
created there.

The square seems to appear on the bottom of any text box on all my ol
and newly created documents...all my templates have my company'
letterhead with a text box in the middle (for the letter to be typed).

Yesterday, it also appeared on some of my e-mails when I hi
reply...but it is not there today!

Thank you so much for your time..

I'm pleased to hear it is OK today. However, you really don't need a text
box in your template 'for the letter text'. Fellow MVP Suzanne has create an
excellent tutorial for creating a business letter template. Basically, the
front page company information goes into the front page Header/Footer with
the following pages (if there are any) being either blank or with modified
Headers/Footers as appropriate.

Thanks for your reply - The e-mails are OK today BUT my main problem
the black square in all my documents, is still happening today!
already have the letterhead for my company set-up, but I will look a
Suzanne's tutorial - I'm sure it will be better than what I have now
but this will mean changing all the templates and/or creating new ones
I'd like to avoid that if I could get rid of this stupid black box o
my existing documents!!

Thanks again
