I'm getting this very weird startup behavior in Word 2007 in my
templates, which feature a custom ribbon tab. If I take the custom tab
out of the template (without changing any code), all goes well. If I
put it back in, I get this behavior.
I can replicate it as follows:
1) Open or create a document based on my template. All goes well
2) Open a document not based on my template.
3) Close the document opened in step 1.
4) Open the same document based on my template (the same thing happens
if I open a different doc based on my template or create a new doc
based on my template)
At that point, Word puts out a message "the macro cannot be found or
has been disabled because of your Macro security settings." This
happens before getting to my AutoNew or AutoOpen macros, so it doesn't
seem to relate to the code in my macro. It happens even if I comment
out any ribbon-related code that i've got.
This happens whether I tell Word to enable all macros, or to only
allow macros in signed documents (my templates are signed with a newer
Thawte digital certificate)
I can open numerous docs based on my template, but if I close the last
one and then open another one while a doc not based on my template is
open, this error occurs. If no other document is opened, it doesn't
happen.
I'm still testing in Word 2007 beta; does anyone know if this was a
discovered bug that got fixed in the final release, or what might be
going on?
thanks in advance,
