Weird problem with Microsoft Word

Hi folks!

I have XP pro, and use Microsoft Office 2000. I've been experiencing some
problems with Microsoft Word for the last couple of days. When I launch
Microsoft Word, the computer keeps pausing and starts draining the system
resources, and does not respond, at the end blue screen comes up saying that
system is low in memory.

I scanned the computer both with anti-virus and spyware software. Everything
seems okay.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Office, but I still have the same
problem with Microsoft Word. What do you think the problem is and do you
have any solutions or suggestions to help me resolve this problem?

Thanks

I am having the EXACT same problem on a Windows ME machine that started about two weeks ago. Here is my proposed suggestion as an A+ technician since I did all of the following with absolutely no resolution
updated and ran Norton Anti Viru
scandisk and defragge
ran third party utilitie
uninstalled quick time and all other applications I thought might be creating a conflic
and then reinstalling them when they weren't the proble
checked some of the hardware in the machine as I am a repair technicia

SO I AM GOING TO OFFER THIS AS THE PROBLEM WITH THE ONLY SOLUTION HAVING TO COME FROM MICROSOFT IF I AM RIGHT: I believe that one of the Windows Updates has created an unresolvable conflict with Microsoft Office 2000 winword.exe file. I believe Microsoft is going to have to put out a patch to fix this or we technicians are going to be stripping a lot of machines.
