weird problem with MS project

I have a weird problem with MS project. I have assigned tasks to ABC. When I
close and reopen the file the resource name gets changed to CDE. Any clue why
this happens?

I also tried to clear the contents first and save and close it. when i
reopen it, and fill ABC in, then close and reopen, I still got CDE
I am using 2007

What service packs? You should be on SP2. If not immediately download and
install SP2. That will eliminate a large number of bugs!

Are you connected to Project Server or a Resource Pool?

Are there any macros that might run automatically on project open or close?
