One of our users has brought up a behavior for Search and Replace in
Word that is a bit strange. I have replicated this behavior in both
Word 2003 and XP.
If you search for "and" and replace with "And", all lowercase versions
of "and" are replaced with uppercase. If you search for "And" and
replace with "and", I would expect that all uppercase versions of
"And" would be replaced with the lowercase, but this doesn't happen.
However, if one checks "Match Case" in the options, then uppercase are
replaced with lowercase.
Is this behavior by design? If so, then why?
Thanks in advance for any help.
