weird, small, floating box

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel When I open my document, this small box that references something else floats in front of my text. I never made a text box.

It says, "Page 12 The World Bank and Human R...."

I am working with this topic, but not this document. Not sure what the referred to doc is, right now.

At any rate, I've tried Preferences, control/click, command/click, and combinations, but I cannot even move that little box.

Annoying.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I believe I've spent most of my day resolving problems with Safari (using Google Chrome now), and this.

Thank you very much.

Chances are, it's in the header or footer of the document.

Try View>Header and Footer. You should be able to select it from that view.

The header/Footers are in a separate "compartment" of the file, they are not
part of the main text. So unless you go into Header/Footer View, you can't
work with anything in there. And just because something is in the header or
footer, does not prevent it appearing anywhere on the page...

Cheers
