weird text on new doc in mac 2008

I just upgraded my office 2004 to 08 and it upgraded fine

Now tho when I open a new blank doc it has this text on it

Owd oedi iw

if I click on the word logo in the dock it opens this as well,

how can I clear this to open a new blank doc please ? is there a template somwhere that it uses ?

Hi Jules,

Yes, it¹s called the Normal template and its file name is Normal.dotm.
You¹ll find it here in Office 2008: Home/Library/Application
Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/Normal.dotm.

Navigate to it, open it, clear that text (and make any other changes you¹d
like to see in *all* blank documents), save it, close it. Now, when you
open documents the normal way, they should be as you like them.

Then you did not FIND the correct Normal template :)

There can be several on the system

Go to Word>Preferences>File Locations>...

Select User Templates and click "Modify"

(Or got to Tools>Templates and Add-ins... And click "Attach")

Word will then show you where the one it is actually using is...

I did as you said above and it still opens a new template with words already
on it.
