What about the BASE REF

P

Pat

I used to use Frontpage Express and I had one BASE REF statement in the main
web page. That way I could set the BASE REF to point to my web server's
directory and al reference in ALL of my web pages would be relative to the
one BASE REF in the first web page. When I moved to my hard drive, I would
temporarily change the BASE REF to point to my hard drive directory.

Then I moved to Frontpage 2000 and this did not seem to be a problem. I
still have the BASE REF pointing to the web server directory: http:www......
but it seems to also work in FP 2000 on my hard drive.

(1) Should I use BASE REF?

(2) If yes, should I put a BASE REF statement in the HEAD section of every
web page?
